Ecco Sticks With Ladies European Tour

ECCO will once more serve as an official sponsor of the Ladies European Tour (LET) for 2010 to extend its partnership for a seventh successive year. LET staff will continue wearing the brand’s distinctive golf shoes during all on-course activities, as well as ECCO dress shoes during all company functions.

Founded in 1963 by Karl Toosbuy, ECCO is the only major shoe manufacturer to own and manage the entire value chain from cow to consumer. ECCO has more than 15,000 employees, direct subsidiaries in Europe, the Far East and North America, and partners worldwide.

ECCO will offer complimentary footwear to every LET member in exemption categories 1-8, provided they agree to wear them exclusively during all competitions. The company will also provide footwear contracts to the top-10 players from the LET Q-School, as well as three pairs of golf shoes to each of the top-30 qualifiers. ECCO specializes in producing shoes like beach shoes, so discount golf clubs are beyond the scope.

“For the last seven years, ECCO has been an active partner of the LET and we appreciate the company’s ongoing support.”

ECCO golf shoes are worn in competition by Iben Tinning, Linda Wessberg, Carin Koch, Fred Couples, Colin Montgomerie, Stuart Appleby, Aaron Baddeley, Thomas Bjorn, John Bickerton, Arjun Atwal, Bradley Dredge and others.

The company’s 2010 collection, highlighted by the trend-setting Golf Street hybrid sport-casual shoe, is currently available worldwide.
